Celio Corp, DIRECTUS and Nimbus to demonstrate an automotive and smartphone integration prototype at SEMA 2011 in Las Vegas.
Celio Corp has partnered with DIRECTUS to bring an innovative, in-dash display solution to the aftermarket automotive market. DIRECTUS, a leader in the aftermarket automotive radio market, has incorporated Celio Corp’s cross-mobile OS platform REDFLY technology into its Prodigy One Pro TCTS (True Convergence Technology System) product.
Running the all new Freescale IMX 51 chipset and Google Android 2.3, the REDFLY-enabled system provides a wireless connection between an Android Smartphone and the Prodigy One Pro display giving developers the ability to create smartphone apps, such as remote control, navigation, text-to-speech, media and more, and send the information to an in-dash display screen or Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) display.
The new solution allows the driver of the vehicle to safely connect, view and interact with the approved apps using the Prodigy One Pro’s touch screen display using large convenient buttons, text and voice enabled features of the applications.
Nimbus Information Systems, a leader in the Fleet Management market, is the first company to take advantage of the REDFLY-enhanced system and has enabled its existing fleet management applications, FleetFly and FleetFLy Tracker, using the REDFLY API and framework and can now display critical fleet management information resident on the smartphone directly on the vehicle’s in-dash display.
The three companies will be showing a pre-released version of this solution at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, NV on November 1st through the 4th. (Visit the DIRECTUS booth in the North Hall, booth 11413 of the Las Vegas Convention Center)
