MC75 Instructions

Before installing REDFLY software to an MC75 device, it is important to contact the Motorola support team for the latest Bluetooth Explorer patch. This patch is "entitled" software so direct contact with Motorola is required. This ROM update is necessary to insure good Bluetooth connectivity. Please call 1-800-653-5350 or email emb.support@motorola.com and request the version of the MC75 OS, BSP 27, which contains BT Explorer v1.2.6 build 24708. This ROM upgrade will require a hard reset of the phone, so please apply this prior to installing the REDFLY software. The readme with full release notes for this patch is available here.

Once the Bluetooth patch is installed, please install the latest REDFLY driver release from here.

  1. On the MC75 make Bluetooth discoverable and conectable via the Start > Settings > Connections > tab and select the Bluetooth icon. On the mode tab you should check both options if they are not already enabled. Do not connect via the USB cable.
    1. On the REDFLY hold FN and F12.
    2. Search for a device.
    3. It will find a Windows mobile device.
    4. Click OK and it will return a PIN number.
  2. Enter this PIN number on the MC75 - The screen to do this should be at the foreground. There is a 30 second timeout to do this so it is important to enter this pin code quickly on the phone.
  3. Once the pin is set on the MC75, then the REDFLY will take control of the screen.
  4. To re establish a Bluetooth connection after initial setup, just press the F7 key.
