REDFLY Product Installation

Celio Corp provides both hardware and software products designed to unleash the power of your smartphone! Whether you choose one of our award-winning REDFLY Mobile Companion models or the new REDFLY Mobile Viewer application for personal computers, a phone driver must first be installed on your mobile device to communicate with our products properly.

Before installing any software to your phone, you must insure that it is one of the supported smartphones on our tested and approved list. Please review the list at Tested SmartPhones before proceeding. Currently we support a large number of Windows Mobile 5-6x phones. At this time, we do not have driver installations for other popular mobile operating systems like Blackberry or Android, though we plan to provide support for those and other platforms in the future.

IMPORTANT: For optimal performance, you should always update your REDFLY Mobile Companion firmware to a version matching your phone driver software. Download both the appropriate operating system version of the driver software and the REDFLY firmware to your phone before beginning the installation. This is also true for the REDFLY Mobile Viewer application, whose version should match your phone driver as well.

REALLY IMPORTANT: Unlike desktop systems, which have become highly interchangeable over time, smartphones vary considerably by hardware platform, operating system and even carrier customization. Customers have occasionally found that our drivers will install and run on Windows Mobile phones that are not included on our supported smartphone list. Please note that you do so at your own risk and that Celio Corp will not be responsible for any issues that result from installing on a non-supported device. In general you should first backup everything on your phone, as in rare cases we have received reports that installing our driver on unsupported devices can cause the phone to become unresponsive and result in the need for a hard reset.

As always, Celio Corp appreciates your interest in our products and welcomes all questions and feedback regarding our company and products. Please contact us at support@celiocorp.com with product issues or join our forum for the latest news and updates.

Note to Existing Beta Users:
An updated version of the REDFLY Mobile Viewer beta is now available -build 192. This update will timeout on August 1, 2009 regardless of when it is installed. However, for those users who downloaded earlier betas of the product that timed out after 60 days of use, this build will further extend the use to August 1 as well. Before installing this build, please go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall any previous version.

Also, please note that there is a new phone driver beta build available too on the Tested Smartphone page. It is recommended that RMV users update their phone to this driver.

Changes in Build 192:

  1. A new feature called Event Notification is now available. If you have your phone connected to your laptop and RMV running and connected to your phone, any phone call or SMS text message you receive will pop-up a small dialog in your system tray with that notice.
  2. A new feature called Network Sharing is now available. This feature is not yet working for all smartphones we support, but when it is enable on many phones, you may choose via a setting in the Options dialog whether to use your PC network connection in the Mobile Viewer or instead isolate that connection and communicate outward through your phone's data plan.
  3. Several small issues with scaling the viewer console window have been corrected.
